Plants in the ocean
There are very little plants found in the marine biome.
Kelp is one of the few. It grows around cold, rocky coastlines. Kelp is a surface plant that lives in shallow waters. Kelp attatches itself to the ocean floor using an anchor system called "holdfast." Kelp can grow up to 150 feet tall! Lots of animals feed off of kelp. They are a big part of the food chain in the ocean! Below is a picture of kelp growing from the ocean floor.

Seagrass
Seagrass is another plant found in the ocean. It grows on the ocean floor with roots buried in the sediment. Seagrass is the only plant that can be pollinated completely immersed in water. It provides food for turtles and habitats for lots of other species. Below is a picture of an actual turtle feeding on the grass.
Seaweed
Seaweed comes in three colors; red, green, and brown. It grows so quickly that it sometimes chokes out the existing sea life around it. Seaweed is a member of the algae family. Humans and animals in the ocean benefit from seaweed because it contains rich nutrients and minerals. Below is a picture.
